A new LTE network has been built at the section of the Russian Coal company

The construction of two base stations and the integration of a new high-speed LTE wireless network into the enterprise’s information infrastructure have been completed at the Kirbinsky section. The project was implemented by specialists of the Information technology department of the Russian Coal company together with representatives of PJSC VimpelCom.

The construction of its own network at the Kirbinsky section has significantly improved coverage and communication quality, and ensured the stability of mobile data transmission. The bandwidth of the data transmission channel is 100 MB/s, and the coverage area is over 10 km2.

A reliable communication channel at an industrial enterprise is necessary for transmitting information from quarry equipment and video cameras installed on the territory of the industrial site. The analysis of the data obtained allows you to monitor the performance of equipment in real time, monitor various technical parameters. Also, with the help of high-speed mobile communication, the operational transfer of information between people within the framework of operational activities is ensured.

“There are often problems with communication in mining industries, because their activities are associated with changes in the terrain, for example, the formation and movement of dumps. Infrastructure should live and develop together with the enterprise. To solve this problem, we chose the construction of 15-meter cell towers and the use of antennas, the location of which can be adjusted when the terrain changes, so that the coverage is always of the highest quality. There is broadband Internet access on 90% of the territory of the mine,” said a representative of the Russian Coal company.

In total, 8 high-speed mobile communication base stations have been put into operation at the enterprises of the Russian Coal company, together with telecom operators. This allows you to monitor the operation of more than 500 units of equipment in real time.
