In 2021, Russian Coal produced 14.7 million tons of thermal coal

In 2021, over 14.7 million tons of thermal coal were produced at the Russian Coal company’s mines in the SFO and Far Eastern Federal District. This is 200 thousand tons higher than in 2020, which amounted to 14.5 million tons of fuel. The volume of production of brown thermal coal in 2021 amounted to 6.8 million tons, and of hard thermal coal – 7.9 million tons, the company said.

In 2022, Russian Coal plans to increase the production of thermal coal in the Siberian Federal District by 1.2 million tons. By 1 million tons – from 2 to 3 million tons, the annual volume of D-grade coal production will increase at the Kirbinsky section in Khakassia, working off the reserves of the Bey coal deposit. The growth of coal production at the Kirbinsky mine by the end of 2021 amounted to 11%. By 200 thousand tons – from 1.3 to 1.5 million tons of fuel, it is planned to increase annual coal production at the Sayano-Partizansky section located in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. It produces coal of the “G” and “DG” brands, which, due to its high caloric content (more than 6000 kcal/ kg), is in active demand in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

In 2022, Russian Coal also plans to significantly increase investments in the expansion and renewal of the fleet of equipment, capital construction, and modernization of infrastructure facilities. As part of the investment program implemented in 2021, new mining equipment and equipment were systematically delivered to the company’s coal mines in the Amur Region, Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia, and fully automated treatment facilities of a multi-stage pit water treatment system were built and put into operation at the Kirbinsky section.

“Both brown and hard coal are mined at the enterprises of Russian Coal. The diversification of assets allows the company to maintain a stable position in both the domestic and global markets. The main Russian consumers of our products, with whom long-term contracts have been concluded, are the large energy sector and housing and communal services, federal and state structures. In addition to supplies to 60 regions of the Russian Federation, the products of Russian Coal are exported to 15 countries of the world,” the company’s representative explained.
