Amur Coal provides charity fuel to those in need

During the heating season-2021, Amur Coal JSC helps its social partners in the Amur region. Charitable coal from the company was received by the local religious organization of the Orthodox parish in honor of the “Holy Great Martyr Catherine” of the village of Yekaterinoslavka of the Oktyabrsky district of the Amur region, as well as the Diocesan Convent in honor of the Albazinsky Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Srednebelaya of the Ivanovo district of the Amur region.

Among the company’s social partners is a Sunday school operating at the church in honor of the Great Martyr Catherine in the village of Yekaterinoslavka in the Oktyabrsky district of the Amur region. Every week, children from religious families and not only gather here to study the law of God, learn to read in Church Slavonic and master church singing. The Sunday school has a warm family atmosphere, children, sometimes with their parents or grandmothers, are happy to attend various events and creative classes: choral singing, origami, drawing. Various competitions, intellectual and sports, are also held.

“In winter, of course, it is difficult to heat the church and Sunday school. But for many years, the miners have been providing us with charitable assistance in the form of coal, providing the church and Sunday school with heat for the entire heating season, which lasts 8 months,” says the rector of the church, Priest Vasily Khokhlov.

During the existence of the Sunday school, its own traditions have developed here. For example, for Christmas, together with the children, a nativity scene is made of snow and Christmas tree branches. After the labors in the fresh frosty air – a tea party with homemade cakes and a heart-to-heart conversation. “Rehearsals begin long before the holiday. After all, the guys will have to give a small concert on January 7 for everyone who came to the temple that day. And after it, they hurry to share their Christmas joy with the children from the October Social Rehabilitation Center for Minors. A small concert is also given for them at a beautiful Christmas tree, and, of course, gifts made by the guys and sweets are given. And here it cannot do without the help of our friends from the Amur Coal. Thanks to the miners, all the children from the rehabilitation center and everyone who came to the temple on this day receive sweet gifts,” explains Priest Vasily Khokhlov, rector of the church of the Great Martyr Catherine.

Employees of Russian Coal enterprises have improved their qualifications in environmental safety

Employees of Russian Coal enterprises in the Amur Region, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia and Moscow have completed a professional development program “Ensuring environmental safety by managers and specialists of general economic management systems”.

During the training programs, qualified experts in the field of industrial ecology introduced students to new norms of environmental legislation, systems for assessing the impact of industrial enterprises on the environment, the mechanism of state environmental expertise, requirements for the protection and use of water bodies, as well as in the field of atmospheric air protection and waste management. Special attention was paid to the study of modern principles of the organization of industrial environmental control and the effective organization of the work of the environmental service of the enterprise.

The acquired knowledge on industrial ecology and ensuring environmental safety in production will be used in practice – in the production processes of Russian Coal enterprises.

Tatiana Kozlova, Chief ecologist of JSC “Krasnoyarsk Krayugol”, tells: “Working as an ecologist at JSC “Krasnoyarsk Krayugol” since 2005, I have repeatedly been trained in the field of environmental protection. But they were mainly aimed at covering some one topic.

The training organized by JSC “Russian Coal” and conducted by the Legal Center for Industrial Ecology, in connection with significant changes in environmental legislation, is distinguished by the fact that it covered a wide range of current environmental issues.

The presentation of the material by the lecturers was professional, concise and specific. As part of the training, I received answers to all my questions. I was also pleased that a wide audience was involved in the training, including the heads of organizations that are responsible for decision-making at enterprises.

The presence of trained personnel in the field of environmental safety helps to reduce environmental risks for the enterprise, leads to understanding and interaction in solving tasks in the field of environmental protection.”

“Rational use of natural resources in any enterprise begins with people. Only possession of the necessary set of relevant regulatory and practical skills allows you to establish the chain of interaction from the level of decision-making to their direct execution as efficiently as possible. It is important to react and adapt to the ongoing regulatory changes and innovations in a timely manner. Qualitatively and consciously approach the transformation of ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance), the transition to the principles of BAT (the best available technologies) and comprehensive environmental responsibility, including at the facilities of the coal mining industry,”- said Alexey Shpitsman, Chief Specialist of the environmental audit Sector of Russian Coal JSC.

Environmentally responsible production management is a priority of the Russian Coal Company. A complex of environmental protection measures is carried out at all enterprises of the company. These include regular stocking of reservoirs, monitoring of atmospheric air, recultivation and restoration of forests, measurements at the border of the sanitary protection zone of enterprises, monitoring of underground and surface waters, as well as soil and snow cover, participation in regional and federal environmental actions and others.

In 2021, the company invested 500 million rubles in the construction of high-tech treatment facilities for multi-stage treatment of quarry waters at the Kirbinsky section in Khakassia. To preserve biological diversity, the company also finances the creation and development of the Koibal Steppe Lakes Reserve in the region.

Since the beginning of the year, one and a half million tons of coal have been mined at the Yerkovetsky mine

RIA-Novosti

For 9 months of this year, 1.5 million tons of coal were mined at the Yerkovetsky mine in the Amur region, the Russian Coal company reports.

In total, 2.25 million tons of brown thermal coal of the “2B” brand have been produced at the enterprises of “Amurugol” (the asset of the company “Russian Coal” in the Amur region) since the beginning of the year. The solid fuel extracted from the Amur region sections is used to ensure the energy security of the Russian Far East. It is shipped to the large energy sector – CHP and GRES of the region, and is also supplied for the needs of housing and communal services.

In the near future, the Yerkovetsky mine will produce 45 million tons of coal since the commissioning of the enterprise in 1991.

The press service notes that over the past ten years, the annual production capacity of the Yerkovetsky mine has grown from 1.7 million tons to 2.2 million tons with the prospect of further growth to 2.5 million tons of fuel.

The licensed reserves of the mine amount to about 500 million tons of thermal coal, which makes it possible to operate the mine for more than 180 years. The resources of the entire Yerkovetsky brown coal deposit amount to about 3 billion tons, which makes it possible to significantly increase the production capacity of the coal mining enterprise in the future.

Coal in the Amur region is mined in an open way, using a transportless development system.

Solid fuel production in the Amur region is also carried out at the Severo-Vostochny section, working off the reserves of the Raichikhinsky brown coal deposit.
