Russian Coal held an interregional festival of mining skills in Kuzbass for the first time for the 300th anniversary of the coal industry

For the 300th anniversary of the coal industry of the Russian Federation and the 75th anniversary of the professional holiday Miner’s Day, the Russian Coal company for the first time held an interregional festival of mining skills in the “coal heart” of Russia – Kuzbass.

About 60 miners – representatives of labor dynasties – from 7 coal mining enterprises of 4 regions of the Russian Federation – the Amur Region, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia and Kuzbass competed for the title of the best professional.

The event was held at the Vinogradovsky coal mine of the Kuzbass Fuel Company in the format of a family festival. Family entertainment, career guidance quizzes and fun rides were organized for the guests.

The Miners’ festival was opened by a historical parade of equipment dedicated to the development of the Russian coal industry. The legendary Konogon was the first to appear in front of the audience, because horses helped to export “black gold” from the mines until the early seventies of the last century.

The legendary Soviet “hard workers”- trucks of the middle of the last century – continued the march.

And modern technology completed the historical excursion – maneuverable loaders and giant BelAZ dump trucks spun in a miner’s waltz to classical music, as if performing ballet pirouettes.

It’s time for the competition. About 300 spectators gathered at a specially created site that meets all the requirements of industrial safety to see the skill of the miners. Among them are not only colleagues, but also families of coal miners. Many of them were able to visit the coal mine for the first time and see how “black gold” is mined. The honorary guests of the holiday were the heads of mining equipment manufacturing companies. A mandatory requirement for attending the event is vaccination and revaccination from covid-19.

The competitions were held in 10 nominations. Representatives of the main working professions of the coal industry competed for the title of the best professional – drivers of walking, electric and hydraulic excavators, bulldozer drivers, drivers of BelAZ dump trucks of different lifting capacities and loader drivers. For the first time, electric and gas welders competed for the title of the best, without which timely and qualified repair of mining equipment is impossible.

The results of the participants were evaluated by a panel of judges, which included 15 judges – employees of coal mining enterprises of the Amur Region, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Khakassia and Kuzbass.

The competition program consisted of 2 parts – theoretical and practical. Practical tasks included both the work familiar to miners and extraordinary tricks on mining vehicles that require truly jewelry art from drivers and drivers.

As a result, the miners from Kuzbass won the championship in a tense struggle. The second place was taken by coal miners of Khakassia. Coal miners from the Amur Region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory were among the bronze medalists.

All winners and prize-winners were awarded with solid monetary prizes and commemorative awards. In addition, the participants who took the first places will receive an additional salary supplement during the calendar year.

However, the main task of each team of contestants is not to win, but to exchange experience and best production practices between regions, which will then be brought into the work of their teams. This contributes to the growth of labor productivity and the achievement of the highest production indicators.

Russian Coal and Kuzbass Fuel Company are among the largest coal companies in Russia in terms of total annual coal production (about 30 million tons). The total reserves of both companies exceed 2 billion tons of thermal coal. Russian Coal and CPC fuel are in demand both in Russia and in the world, employing over 9,000 people at the enterprises. Both companies annually invest billions of rubles in the renewal of the fleet of equipment, including as part of the import substitution program. Extensive fuel reserves and a fleet of modern equipment allow companies to plan stable operations in the long term – for decades to come.

“Russian Coal” and “Kuzbass Fuel Company” systematically pursue a socially oriented policy in the regions of their presence, provide social support to miners and their families. Hundreds of new jobs are created at the companies’ enterprises every year.

“By developing our staff, we contribute to the development of the entire coal industry – and with it, to maintaining the country’s energy security, maintaining the stability of the economy, preserving existing jobs and creating new ones. Perhaps some of the kids who visited the coal mine for the first time today and saw how masterfully they work on such a giant, multi-ton equipment, will also want to follow in their father’s footsteps and link their lives with work in such an important area for the country as the coal industry,” said the representative of the Russian Coal company.

Russian Coal develops specialized educational projects in the Amur region

Russian Coal company held a profile mining shift on the basis of the MOU secondary school of the village of Varvarovka, Amur region, in July 2022 with the support of JSC “Amurugol”, an asset of the company “Russian Coal”.

The profile shift gave students the opportunity not only to actively spend the summer week, but also to get maximum information about working professions in the coal industry. The lessons of the basics of professional self-determination received these days became the first step for the children to understand their future profession. And deeper specialized knowledge about the coal industry will be provided by the mining class, which will open at the school in the new academic year thanks to JSC “Amurugol”.

“The children taking part in the profile shift communicated with teachers and specialists of the Educational and Course Combine of the Yerkovetsky section. After the theoretical part, the students went on a tour of the section, where they saw the coal mining process live. Everyone also visited the management of the section. Undoubtedly, the profile shift gave the children and their parents an opportunity to think together and make a decision about studying in a profile mining class, which after graduation will open the way to a coal mining enterprise,” said Natalia Sogdieva, Deputy director for educational Work of the Varvarovka village School of Secondary Education.

After an excursion to the Yerkovetsky coal mine, Arina Levchuk, whose father works as an excavator driver’s assistant, admitted that she had not even imagined before how responsible and important her dad’s profession was.

The profile mining shift is a large–scale project that gives the children of the Oktyabrsky district of the Amur region the opportunity to decide on their future profession. Among other social projects of the company are the support of creative children’s groups of the village of Varvarovka and the city of Raichikhinsk, as well as the implementation of various sports projects for young people, traditional cooperation with educational institutions, assistance to them, the organization of thematic exhibitions of the Raichikhinsky Museum of Local Lore for schoolchildren.

JSC “Amurugol” intends to further develop social partnership with the Varvarovka village school, where children of the company’s employees study, among others.

Russian Coal enterprise in the Amur Region received the new equipment

As part of the implementation of the annual investment program, new equipment was received at the Yerkovetsky section of JSC “Amurugol” – an asset of the Russian Coal company in the Amur region. A new grader GR-215-3A has been put into operation. This model of equipment is considered universal and all-weather. It has high performance and a high level of comfort for the operator. Among other things, the grader is equipped with an automatic fire extinguishing system, as well as a GLONASS system.

According to the director of the Yerkovetsky mine Mikhail Evstigneev, the new grader will be used for the construction and planning of highways.

Also, the automobile park of the Yerkovetsky section was replenished this year with a new KAMAZ 53605 car – for the delivery of preferential coal to the population, the IVANOVETS KS-45717-1R truck crane based on the URAL car (for performing loading and unloading operations during the repair of the excavator fleet, mining vehicles and other equipment), the BM-205D drilling crane installation based on a tractor MTZ-82.

Recall that in the first 6 months of 2022, coal production at the Yerkovetsky mine increased by 11% compared to the same period last year — from 0.9 to 1.0 million tons. In total, the enterprises of JSC “Amurugol” in the 1st half of 2022 produced over 1.5 million tons of brown thermal coal for the needs of the housing and communal services sector, as well as thermal power plants and power plants of the Amur region.

In the 1st half of 2022, fuel production at the Russian Coal mine in the Amur region increased by 11%

Russian Coal mining in the Amur Region increased by 11% compared to the same period in 2021, from 0.9 to 1.0 million tons, during the 6 months of 2022, the production of brown thermal coal at the Yerkovetsky section of JSC “Amurugol”, an asset of the company “Russian Coal” in the Amur region.

At the moment, 27 units of large mining and transport equipment are involved in the Yerkovets section, the company employs 628 people.

At the beginning of this year, the balance reserves of the Yerkovetsky mine amounted to 504 million tons of thermal coal. The resources of the entire Yerkovetsky brown coal deposit are about 2.0 billion tons of fuel, which makes it possible to significantly increase the production capacity of the coal mining enterprise in the future.

The growth of the production capacity of the Yerkovetsky section makes it possible to create new jobs and allows attracting to the enterprise the released material and technical resources from the Raichikhinsky brown coal deposit, which has provided the Amur Region and neighboring regions with energy coal for more than 90 years.

In 2022, the miners of the Amur region are working ahead of planned production indicators. In total, the enterprises of JSC “Amurugol” produced more than 1.5 million tons of brown thermal coal in January – June 2022.

The fuel extracted in the Amur region is used for the needs of the Russian Far East. Blagoveshchenskaya CHP and Raychikhinskaya GRES are working on it, among others.

Russian Coal’s fuel production in the Krasnoyarsk Territory increased by 15% in 6 months of 2022%

Russian Coal’s fuel production at the Pereyaslovsky mine, an asset of the Russian Coal company in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, increased by 15% compared to the same period in 2021 – from 1.3 to 1.5 million tons.

The company produces brown energy coal for the needs of generating companies – CHP and GRES, housing and communal services, as well as state consumers. In 2022, the 100 millionth ton of coal is planned to be shipped to consumers at the Pereyaslovsky mine since the company was founded.

Russian Coal produced about 600 thousand tons of solid fuel in the 1st half of 2022 at another enterprise of the Russian Coal company in the Krasnoyarsk Territory – the Sayano-Partizansky section. It produces high-calorie hard coal, which is in demand not only in Russia, but also abroad. The caloric content of fuel reaches 6500 calories per kilogram.

Gas coal is one of the universal brands of solid fuel. It belongs to the energy, but it can also be used to get coke. The main export product of the Sayano-Partizansky mine is GOMSSH coal. Thanks to the new crushing plant, in 2021 the output of this high-quality coal grade at the Sayano-Partizansky section increased. The company plans to further increase production capacity.

In total, over 2.1 million tons of fuel were produced at the Russian Coal mines in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the first half of 2022. The company is a major employer in the region: about 1,000 residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory are employed at its enterprises.

The first ornithological tower in Khakassia was built with the support of the Russian Coal Company

The ornithological observation tower was built with the financial support of the Kirbinsky section of the Russian Coal Company on the territory of the Koibal Steppe Lakes Nature Reserve in the Baysky district of Khakassia.

The ornithological tower is designed to carry out state accounting of the number of wildlife on the territory of the reserve, as well as for bird watching. According to scientists, more than 120 species of birds, including rare, red-book birds, live in the protected area. Also, the 8-meter construction will make it more convenient to carry out research activities, and educational excursions will be even more spectacular. For these purposes, the Kirbinsky section helped to purchase special equipment – a telescope with a sixty-fold magnification.

Representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic, the Directorate for Specially Protected Natural Territories of Khakassia, the Regional Public Environmental Organization “Eco-Environment”, the Kirbinsky section, as well as representatives of scientific and tourism organizations took part in the opening of the observation tower.

“This is the first construction of such a plan in Khakassia. It will allow monitoring the populations of more than 120 species of birds living in the reserve. And also to conduct excursions within the framework of ecological and educational events,” said the chairman of the Regional Public Environmental Organization “Eco-Environment” .Roman Torin.

“The State Nature Reserve “Lakes of the Koibal Steppe” was created with the support of the Kirbinsky section, and now we continue to develop this partnership. For example, within the framework of cooperation agreements, the Kirbinsky section annually conducts research work “Monitoring of biological diversity in the specially protected natural area of the Lake of the Koibal Steppe”, – said the chief ecologist of the Kirbinsky Section LLC Lyubov Pilipenko.

The reserve “Lakes of the Koibal Steppe” with a total area of 1,261 hectares is located on the territory of the Bay and Altai districts of Khakassia. The territory of the reserve includes lakes Bird, Dog and Aspic. Reservoirs are one of the main channels of the Central Asian migration route of migratory bird species, many of which are listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Khakassia.

Russian Coal increases fuel supplies to BAM’s utility systems

The company “Russian Coal” increases the volume of supplies of coal grade “D” to the municipal systems of BAM. Fuel is needed to provide energy resources for construction work on the expansion of the Eastern landfill.

Russian Coal has been supplying fuel for the needs of BAM’s utility systems since 2019. Then the company shipped about 35 thousand tons of coal for the development of the railway infrastructure of the Eastern Landfill.

Russian Coal has started shipping fuel to BAM’s utility systems again since April 2022, supplying 3-4 thousand tons of coal monthly to provide energy resources for railway construction. In the future, the volume of monthly shipments will grow to 6 thousand tons of fuel. Thus, in 2022, the company will provide about 40% of the needs of BAM’s municipal systems in solid fuel, which is 20% higher than the volume of past deliveries.

In 2023, Russian Coal’s cooperation with BAM municipal systems will continue.

Now, in order to ensure the energy security of construction work on the expansion of the Eastern landfill and maintain the regulatory reserve, coal supplies are carried out year-round to more than 20 railway stations.

The fuel is used to produce electricity and heat energy necessary for the life of villages and stations where railway construction is underway and over 1,000 people work.

Employees of the Pereyaslovsky section introduce modern lining technologies

Technologies for lining the inner walls of excavator buckets with sheets of ultrahigh molecular polyethylene (UHMWPE RE-1000) are being introduced at the Pereyaslovsky section (an asset of the Russian Coal company in the Krasnoyarsk Territory).

Lining allows you to increase the service life of the bucket, reduce the impact of shock loads, reduce the sticking of overburden and the impact of friction on the surface of the working equipment of excavators of the EKG type (crawler excavator). Carrying out these works contributes to increasing the resource and productivity of mining equipment, as well as reducing operating costs, explained in the department of the chief mechanic of the enterprise.

Currently, specialists of the repair and mechanical section group, taking into account the recommendations of suppliers of lining material, have mastered and successfully applied the technology of lining excavator buckets with sheets of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, one bucket of the EKG-10 excavator and two buckets of the EKG-8I excavator have been lined. At the same time, one bucket, upgraded with this technology, has been successfully in operation for more than 1 year.

“The quality of the work performed by the specialists of our enterprise is not inferior to the quality of the work performed earlier by the contractors. It should be noted that in case of defects and separation of individual lining elements, we have the opportunity at any time to promptly replace the failed lining material sheets, having a reserve in the material warehouse of the branch, and therefore the time of emergency downtime of the excavator is reduced,” explained Konstantin Zhbanov, Deputy Chief mechanic of the Pereyaslavsky section.
