“Russian Coal” prepares mountain rescue teams in the Amur region

At the end of 2021, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia certified the auxiliary mining rescue teams (VGK) of the structural divisions “Yerkovetsky Section” and “Severo-Vostochny Section” of JSC “Amur Coal” (an asset of the Russian Coal company in the Amur region). In each VGK there are heads and commanders of departments. A total of 18 people with both higher mining education and specialists with secondary specialized education were included in the VGK: deputy production directors, mining foremen, machinists and assistant excavators.

Each VGK is equipped with mountain rescue equipment, SIZOD (personal respiratory protection equipment), first aid equipment, special vehicles for delivering members of the VGK to the accident site.

The base room of the VGK for the maintenance of mountain rescue equipment was preserved for the VGK of the Severo-Vostochny section, Amur Coal JSC reported.

In March 2022, the members of the VGK of both coal mines began scheduled semi-annual training at the base of the UC VGSCh of the Far East in Neryungri. In addition to scheduled classes at the HCSC, mountain rescuers undergo periodic practical classes in their structural divisions.

Russian Coal will create a digital model of the Kirbinsky section using a UAV

Russian Coal is developing the introduction of industrial UAVs into surveying operations. A new drone has been successfully tested at the Kirbinsky section in Khakassia. The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is designed to perform surveying, aerial photography and create a digital terrain model. Specialists of the geological surveying service and the Information Technology department have received special training to work with the equipment.

To conduct aerial photography at the Kirbinsky section, the Russian Coal company purchased an unmanned aerial vehicle for vertical take-off and landing FIXAR 007. The maximum route length for one flight is up to 60 km, the operating time is up to 60 minutes, the flight range is up to 25 km. The UAV is equipped with an upgraded SONY A6000 digital camera and a special satellite GNSS receiver.

“The set of this equipment provides not only high-quality aerial photographs, but also the exact coordinates of the territory being filmed, which can later be used to obtain a digital terrain model and make orthophotoplans. FIXAR 007 is simple and reliable as industrial quadrocopters, fast and efficient as an airplane,” said Alexander Serebryakov, chief surveyor of LLC “Kirbinsky Section”.

According to experts, the use of FIXAR 007 for aerial photography will significantly increase the productivity of the geological surveying service of the enterprise, which will allow solving more tasks in the same period of time.

A new LTE network has been built at the section of the Russian Coal company

The construction of two base stations and the integration of a new high-speed LTE wireless network into the enterprise’s information infrastructure have been completed at the Kirbinsky section. The project was implemented by specialists of the Information technology department of the Russian Coal company together with representatives of PJSC VimpelCom.

The construction of its own network at the Kirbinsky section has significantly improved coverage and communication quality, and ensured the stability of mobile data transmission. The bandwidth of the data transmission channel is 100 MB/s, and the coverage area is over 10 km2.

A reliable communication channel at an industrial enterprise is necessary for transmitting information from quarry equipment and video cameras installed on the territory of the industrial site. The analysis of the data obtained allows you to monitor the performance of equipment in real time, monitor various technical parameters. Also, with the help of high-speed mobile communication, the operational transfer of information between people within the framework of operational activities is ensured.

“There are often problems with communication in mining industries, because their activities are associated with changes in the terrain, for example, the formation and movement of dumps. Infrastructure should live and develop together with the enterprise. To solve this problem, we chose the construction of 15-meter cell towers and the use of antennas, the location of which can be adjusted when the terrain changes, so that the coverage is always of the highest quality. There is broadband Internet access on 90% of the territory of the mine,” said a representative of the Russian Coal company.

In total, 8 high-speed mobile communication base stations have been put into operation at the enterprises of the Russian Coal company, together with telecom operators. This allows you to monitor the operation of more than 500 units of equipment in real time.
